Scott was born and raised along the Jersey Shore where he fell in love with long distance running.  This led him to the University of Tennessee where he was a 4 year Letterman in Cross Country and Track & Field.  Before turning his attention to triathlon he posted personal best times of 29:12 for 10km, 1:05:40 for the half marathon, and a 2:24 marathon.  In 2009 Scott was put in touch with legendary triathlon coach Brett Sutton.  He was invited to train with Brett and his former squad team TBB.  Scott spent 5 years under the watchful eye of Coach Sutton.  In 3 years time, Brett took Scott from a development athlete with just 1 skill, running, to a podium placing iron distance athlete.  Brett gave him the nickname 'The Animal' for his strong work ethic and ability to chew through sessions day after day.   2012 was Scott's best year thus far, which saw him climb the podium in several events around the world, including Ironman Florida where he set a Personal Best Time of 8:09 for the distance.

Scott continues to chase his dream of becoming an Ironman Champion but when his racing days come to an end he hopes to have a squad of Professionals that he can help as they chase their dreams in triathlon.  In the meantime he has already begun to make his mark in the coaching world after his former coach Brett began mentoring him, not only as an athlete, but also as a coach.  In 2011 Scott began coaching age group athletes under the team TBB umbrella. Since then he has helped guide numerous athletes in qualifying for both the 70.3 World Championships as well as the Hawaii Ironman World Championships.  He credits Brett and his methods for much of his success both as an athlete and coach!

Scott currently has a healthy squad of Age Group athletes he trains remotely from his base in San Diego, as well as 4 Professional Triathletes.
