SCOTT DEFILIPPIS

Scott DeFilippis is a retired professional triathlete and elite endurance coach who co-founded Keep It Simple (KIS) Coaching. Now based out of Midway, UT, he has coached a broad spectrum of athletes since 2011, guiding everyone from absolute beginners to professional competitors and age-group world champions. Over the past 15 years he has helped athletes go from couch to the IRONMAN finish line as well as helping Pro athletes win 70.3 and IRONMAN events.

JAMES CUNNAMA
LOCATION: United Kingdom

James Cunnama is an experienced coach who balances a vast knowledge of triathlon and the science of training with a deep passion for triathlon. Over 20 years of coaching experience he has guided athletes through everything from their first triathlon to world championships. After many years of sharing his expertise with thousands of viewers through Global Triathlon Network, he now makes his expertise available to a select few through KIS Coaching.

BRAD WILLIAMS
LOCATION: Virginia, United States
YEARS COACHING: 11
Brad Williams raced professional triathlon from 2015 to 2021. Before that, he served 10 years in the U.S. Air Force (2004-2014) as an aircraft maintenance technician. Today, Brad coaches athletes from beginners to IRONMAN World Championship qualifiers, with an emphasis on staying healthy and balanced in the sport. He also works for Precision Fuel & Hydration and is a father to three young children, so he fully understands the work life balance that is needed to be successful in life and sport.

KEITH WATSON
LOCATION: Virginia, United States
YEARS COACHING: 19
Keith Watson is an accomplished age group coach and athlete. His triathlon journey began in 1995
racing every distance from Sprint to IRONMAN, XTERRA, Cyclocross and Cross Country MTB. In 2007, he started coaching with one goal in mind: to ensure no one had to make the same mistakes he made through trial and error. As a busy business executive with a career and family, Keith figured out how to fit training and racing into his life, not fight against it. Since then, he’s helped hundreds of age-group athletes from first time IRONMAN finishers to World Championship qualifiers. Keith brings an individual, pragmatic, balanced approach to every athlete he works with.

CARRIE LESTER
LOCATION: Utah, United States
YEARS COACHING: 10
Carrie Lester raced professionally for over a decade, building one of the sport’s most decorated long-course records: 14 Iron-distance titles worldwide including wins at Ironman France, Ironman Mont-Tremblant, and the brutal Embrunman, plus three Top-10 finishes at the IRONMAN World Championships. Today Carrie brings that elite-level experience to coaching athletes of every level, helping them build consistency, confidence, and training structures that actually fit real, busy lives.

JODIE SWALLOW
LOCATION: United Kingdom
YEARS COACHING: 9
Jodie Swallow is a former Olympian, IRONMAN 70.3 World Champion, and multiple IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 Champion. She competed at the pinnacle of triathlon for over 20 years before retiring to start a family. Today, Jodie brings that same elite-level dedication to coaching. Having studied Sport Science and trained alongside the world's finest, she possesses an unmatched depth of performance knowledge. Jodie is currently coaching the next generation on the Talent Pathway for British Triathlon. Alongside this she provides limited slots for personal high-performance coaching.

SAM CARDONA
LOCATION: Maldova, Europe
YEARS COACHING: 15
Sam Cardona's is a 2x State Wrestling Finalist and All-American wrestler, Sam served in the US Army’s elite Light Infantry before bringing that same drive to triathlon racing at Kona, Nice, the IRONMAN European and African Championships, 70.3 Worlds, and Challenge Roth. He’s a USAT All-American and Team USA AG Long Course member. Sam is also a certified Personal Trainer with experience at Equinox and Crunch Fitness, Sam builds personalized swim, bike, and run programs for athletes of all levels. He holds a Master’s in Philosophy and is a PhD candidate, and is based in Moldova, where he’s growing KIS Coaching’s presence in Europe.

BRITTANY VOCKE
LOCATION: Florida, United States
YEARS COACHING: 7
Brittany Vocke swam Division I at George Mason University, where she also earned her degree in Exercise Science, before coaching over 100 nationally ranked swimmers, several to top-10 national finishes. She later brought that expertise to triathlon, where she now races professionally and has qualified for Kona twice, the 70.3 World Championship four times, and earned multiple overall age-group wins. Since 2019, Britt has coached age-group athletes of all levels to first-time finishes, 70.3 Worlds qualifications, and Boston Marathon qualifying times all while helping them balance training with real life.

LOU MANCUSO
LOCATION: New York, United States
YEARS COACHING: 5
Lou Mancuso grew up in New York City and played college football in New Jersey before team sports led him, at 45, to triathlon despite not knowing how to swim and not having ridden a bike in 25 years. After a couple of self-coached years, he joined KIS in 2015, training under Coach Sam Cardona and then Coach Scott Defilippis. Since then he’s completed numerous IRONMAN and 70.3 events, qualified for Kona in 2022, and raced the 70.3 World Championships three times. Lou began coaching in 2021. As an older athlete himself, he brings both hard-won experience and patience to helping newcomers make the leap into the sport.

LUIS VILLAVICENCIO
LOCATION: Guatemala, Central America
YEARS COACHING: 30
Luis Villavicencio is the former head coach of the Guatemalan National Team, with over 30 years of international coaching experience. Luis has won numerous short-course duathlons and triathlons while living in South Florida in the 1990s. In 1999, he became the first Guatemalan to finish an IRONMAN under 9:55. Luis has dedicated his life to coaching, helping athletes of all abilities reach their potential through his on-deck, high-performance approach. His goal: to build Central America’s largest triathlon program and take unknown athletes to the top of the sport.
